Review of Survival of the Dead (2010) by Adam M — 24 Aug 2010
George A Romero, please give the dead a rest. This sixth installment of the Dead Saga offers absolutely nothing new to the zombie sub genre--not even some groovy kills, in fact, there are several lame ones thanks to an over-reliance on CGI gore effects.
The characters are uninteresting and so are the actors with possibly the exception of Kenneth Walsh as the Irish accented patriarch. I know zombies are probably Romero's only bread & butter these days but I wish he'd get the chance to try stranger fresh like Bruiser.
Something new cuz these zombies are just plain boring. "Come Out Ye Skunk!" VF.
