Review of Survival of the Dead (2010) by Caleb M — 01 Nov 2010
Amounting to little more than a comic-book entry in a seemingly never-ceasing series, Survival of the Dead packs little punch yet manages to keep the zombie holocaust marginally entertaining. Any attempts at social commentary get lost in a cliche plot arch and dull motivations.
There's fun to be had: starting a boat in a zombie-crowded shipyard, fishin' for zombies, escaping to an island. Except in Romero's world, these people can survive through it, and its fun to see his character navigate through what's left of the world.
