Review of Surveillance (2008) by Zed C — 25 May 2009
So, Jennifer tries to rip off her fathers style, and fails miserably. The trailer makes you think one thing, then 5 min in, you realize that's not the case. Then 5 more minutes in, you can see through the TERRIBLE veil, where it's actually going.
Then you go down a journey of terrible acting, horrible dialogue, weak character structure, and heavy handed "film-school-esqe" directing. When her dad chooses those stylistic choices, I can go, "Okay, this is Lynch".
But just because that's her dad, doesn't give her the same leeway... at all. For me, there was really nothing redeeming about this flick. It wasn't horrible, but it was far, far from good.
