Review of Surf Nazis Must Die (1987) by Brienne H — 03 Jun 2007
This is by far one of the worst films I've ever seen. Nobody believes me when I say that it's supposed to be a serious film. Mind you, it was very hard to take seriously!
I found the concept of a sixty-year-old woman taking on an entire gang of Nazis, whether armed with a pistol and grenades or not, painfully funny. The worst thing for me was that the action dwindled during the middle of the movie, though.
There were so many things wrong with it -- the stupid protractable knife at the end of the inventor's surfboard, the "plan" which was never actually explained properly, the designer surfers (Curl, Blow and Dry. What the fuck!?), footage of Hook sharpening his hook shown TWICE, the long shots in the inventor's shed, the "earthquake" that was displayed by a shot of a house under construction, the arguments and the sex scene on the beach between Adolf and Eva that seemed to begin as sexual assault and then cut to genuine arousal halfway through... how could a director who has presumably seen other movies himself get it so wrong? :D.
In all, it was a good title. Shame about the movie!
