Review of Superman IV: The Quest for Peace (1987) by Thomas B. Harrison for Tampa Bay Times — 25 Mar 2013
Director Sidney J. Furie, whose previous career high-point was either The Ipcress File or Lady Sings the Blues, fumbles the tone as badly as Richard Lester did in Superman III, veering drunkenly from action/adventure to comedy.
Gone is the sense of naïve grandeur that made the original Superman such an endearing production.
