Review of Superman IV: The Quest for Peace (1987) by Eden B — 26 Aug 2009
Hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha! Excuse me! Where to begin on how shit and pretentious this movie is? To begin with its a hollow display of how the Superman movies used to be. Penny pinching producers and bad effects led to a film that looked as if no effort had been put in at all.
Bad acting from the supporting cast and even the leading man really annoyed me. For purist reasons I have the film on DVD but I'm ashamed to watch it. Little known fact: Milton Keynes doubled for Metropolis! Thats how bad this film and its makers were! The whole plot about getting rid of nuclear weapons and creating a 2D villain who can't act for shit is just awful! Jon Cryer is the worst piece of casting in one of his early roles playing Lonny Luthor, the annoying (unbelievable) nephew of Lex Luthor! Bad! To be honest this film is a waste of time and is frankly terrible, boring and just shit!
