"Superman 4 - The Quest for Peace" is without a doubt my least favorite of the four Superman movies. This last time around, Superman (Christopher Reeve) has a plan to put an end to nuclear war altogether by getting rid of all the world's nuclear weapons. But it won't be as easy as the Man of Steel makes it sound because Lex Luthor (Gene Hackman) has his own plan of making and selling nuclear weapons in order to get rich. And on top of that, Lex Luthor has made a new being that just might give Superman a challenge as to who's the strongest. This new being gets his power from the sun and is called Nuclear Man.

In "Superman 4 - The Quest for Peace," Superman does do some terrific feats such as rescue the Statue of Liberty, rescue an astronaut in outer space, and even visit the USA flag on the moon, but it's just not the same Superman. "Superman 4 - The Quest for Peace" has the worst special effects and also the worst plot of any of the Superman movies. The excitement and sense of wonder that were in the previous 3 movies just isn't here in this movie.

"Superman 4 - The Quest for Peace" is an alright movie, but not great by any means. I recommend anybody who likes the other Superman movies to rent this one, but I wouldn't recommend buying it unless you're a Superman fanatic and you absolutely have to have it. NOTE: That was my Amazon review from the year 2001.
