In a way Superman III is much like Superman II. There are one or two half-interesting ideas, like the good Superman/bad Superman split (reborn 25 years later in Spiderman III); there are one or two half-cool effects, like the fighting crosswalk signs.
But most of the film is just too hammy to sit through. The saving grace of these movies is that we can see the film transfer on DVD, so at the very least they have some vintage charm to them. I can't imagine watching something this bad on videotape.
