Review of Superman III (1983) by Shane D — 06 Feb 2012
Weirdly for as many times as I had seen the first 2 SUPERMAN films AND even the fourth installment, I had never seen this effort. Probably a good thing really. Whilst there still are some of the trademark witty one liners sprinkled throughout, this is a pretty weak film.
Where is Lois for the majority of the film? And why should we care about Lana Lang? Even though Richard Pryor is definitely a welcome contribution, his storyline takes up almost the entire running duration of the film.
It just kind of sucks. Which is sad as the first two films are two of my most favourite childhood classics.
