Review of Superman II (1980) by Bryan D — 23 Oct 2012
Richard Donner directed about 70% of this film. Mario Puzzo, who wrote the Godfather, turned in such a long original draft to Superman, that the movie was broken up into two films. Superman 2 does feel like a continuation more than a sequel.
It doesn't quite have the heart of the first film, but it still packs a lot of punch. To this day, the formula used to bring this comic character to life is still being replicated by the industry.
And for good reason. This film is near perfection.
