Review of Superman II (1980) by Peter P — 22 Jan 2013
Wow, other then Christopher Reeves still doing a good job as Superman, this is mostly terrible. It makes very little sense, especially once Zod and crew show up. Plus, this movie shows a Superman that has a bunch of powers that Superman does not have, such as teleporting , mind wiping, being able to move objects with his mind by pointing at them, (that was mainly Zod, but if Zod can do it, then so can Supes,) and making duplicate illusions of himself to trick Zod and them rascals.
Since when can Superman do any of that stuff. Its stuff like that which drives me crazy, its like the script writers never actually read a Superman comic, but just thought that since they had the visual effects capabilities to film that stuff, then Superman would probably do it.
LAME. Now this movie does have some things going for it, the opening scene in Paris is cool, and the Lois and Clark relationship was good, until they again went completely off character and made Superman give up his powers to have a relationship with Lois, which also is completely stupid.
So overall this had potential, but just kinda screwed itself with all the stupidity which they could have done without and still had the same story, just not LAME.
