Review of Superman II (1980) by Jared B — 28 Apr 2018
This film is almost the equivalent of the original if you count the Richard Donner cut. The Richard Lester version of the movie is still great, but has some flaws. Anyways the film has the same light hearted tone of what the previous Superman had.
Great practical effects, amazing villain in General Zod played by Terence Stamp, excellent editing, and most importantly a story that is strong with chemistry between Christopher Reeve and Margot Kidder.
In fact, Christopher Reeve is just as good. A film that is ambitious with fastidious continuity, Superman 2 is an excellent film and is far better than any other sequel to a superhero classic, such as Spider-man 2.
