Review of Superman II (1980) by Joshua B — 25 Feb 2016
The sequel is rarely better than the original, but Superman II is the exception to the rule. Superman II far exceeds the original, despite its dated special effects and occasional plot holes caused by the Donner v.
Lester direction debacle. Reeves seems to have found his groove, the action is more frequent and enjoyable, and more attention is given to Superman's current dilemma rather than his planet and family's lengthy history.
Overall, an enjoyable movie in which we begin to see the development of the modern comic book hero film.
