Review of Superman: Doomsday (2007) by Tracey O — 31 Jan 2008
The animation is generally up to date and smooth - the only little problem I had was with how Superman was drawn. He had more lines on his face than Lois and Lex. Not as recognisable as before.
Out of all the voice actors I was mildly surprised with James Marsters. He oozed Spike/Captain John Hart in his voice acting role here as Lex Luthor.
The fight between Doomsday and Superman is violent and bloody though it doesn't take up the entire film.
Elitist fans of the original comic will obviously be disappointed with the lack of detail in Superman Doomsday but if you're solely interested in a particular death storyline then watch this darker than usual take.
