Review of Superman: Doomsday (2007) by Peter F — 07 Jul 2008
Fans of the source material (The Death of Superman and The Return of Superman) may be angry that this animated adaptation changes the plot so much. Those with their minds more open though, will find this movie retains the spirit and theme of those comics very well.
While the story structure isn't as balanced as it could be, the well animated action scenes and clever in jokes (look for the Kevin Smith cameo) make it work. Bruce Timm and Paul Dini have once again made an enjoyable animated trek into familiar DC territory.
