Review of Superman: Doomsday (2007) by Robert C — 25 Jan 2009
I wanted to like this movie a lot more than I did.
The good:
The action sequences were fantastic, animation was nice, most of the voice acting was decent, and the way they did the eradicator was good.
The bad:
Anne Heche can't act to save her life when she can use facial expressions and body language, so trying with just her voice was painful. The scene with Lois and Martha was painful to sit through.
Superman was way too careless when fighting Doomsday. He kept throwing him through buildings, and then brought them both down in the middle of the damn city, causing a large explosion and buckets of damage (not to mention casualties) I just sat there thinking he should be arrested for reckless endangerment.
Anne Heche.
Nowhere near enough Doomsday for a movie with his name in the title.
Anne Heche.
Superman and Lois 'doing it' prior to Supes telling Lois his secret ID. His whole thing was to get Lois to see the man more than the super in their relationship. Not to mention how cold she was to 'Smallville' when she stated that she already knew who he was.
ANNE FREAKIN' HECHE!!
I wanted to like this a lot more, Ah well, here's hoping that New Frontier is decent.
