Review of Superman/Batman: Public Enemies (2009) by Samitha B — 06 Aug 2010
I thought the plot was kinda dumb, honestly. Nothing to blame but the source material. There's no characterization- Pres Luthor is no different than scheming tycoon Luthor. There's no dynamic between Batman and Superman, ("best friends?" Really?) and its almost silly that they never play their alter egos in the movie. Lois barely even shows up at the end. The plot is literally one big fight after another. It's always a bonus annoyance when tons of random characters are thrown in who I guess we're supposed to already know who they are. The Toyman change is drastic, and I didn't care for the giant mech suit.
Great voice acting and art, but this could be a 2-part TV episode, and really it didn't feel like it even needed to be made.
