Review of Superman/Batman: Apocalypse (2010) by Malcolm O — 29 Sep 2010
Based on the Supergirl arc from the Superman/Batman comicbook by Jeff Loeb and the late Michael Turner, Superman/Batman: Apocalypse does a faithful job of recreating the story and art from the comic. Much like the last few DC animated to DVD outings this film again steps up the fight choreography in ways seldom seen in animation.
While the budget isn't there for intricate animation they certainly make up for it with story telling and action eye-candy. The DC Showcase short included on the DVD isn't up the standards of the previous shorts with a lackluster story starring Green Arrow and animation that just doesn't have the same elegance as the prior ones.
As a complete package it is yet another strong outing for the DC Comics line of animated films produced.
