Review of Superman/Batman: Apocalypse (2010) by Christian B — 21 Jan 2013

This is a Warner Bros. animated, full-length movie. It features Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman fighting the evil Darkseid on the planet Apocalypse. This is actually a Supergirl origin story. The movie is full of action and explosions and some of the story takes place on another planet, which is well imagined.

The animation alternates from fantastic to average. There are some really well animated fight scenes, yet the quieter moments, character conversations, seem under drawn. The characters are quite shallow but these DC Comics superheroes established their personalities long ago.

Both DC and Marvel have stepped up their superhero animated movie output. There are dozens of these movies to explore and the ones that I've seen are quite good. If you're an animation fan, these are worth checking out.
