Review of SuperFly (2018) by Nicole S — 16 Jun 2018

Okay so Trevor Jackson's acting was surprisingly good. I am happy for him. The movie had good fight scenes and good actions scenes. I loved everyone's clothing design. I wish I could compare this movie to the original SupaFly but I can't because I don't remember enough about it. Sorry Guys. My only criticism is the fact the character Priest did not have black women as his "ladies". The one woman was clearly biracial (half blackhalf white) and the other woman was Hispanic. Since when has it become abnormal for black men to be seen with black women? When we watch predominantly white films we don't see white men and women with black love interests, so why then when it comes to black films, we must have black men paired with non-black women or half-black women as their love interest? I made this same criticism for the movie traffik with Omar Epps and Paula Patton. Open your eyes people.
