Review of Super Size Me (2004) by Galaxy Quest P — 20 Apr 2012
Supersize Me is an interesting film with plenty of humour and information along the way, but I'm not all that certain the we actually learn anything that we didn't already know. America has an obesity problem? Eating 5000 calories a day is bad? We're suject to high fat, sugar and sodium foods everyday? Eating high calories combined with little to no exercise is a recipe for disaster? Can anyone honestly say that any of these things comes as a revelation? True, we really don't learn anything new from this film, but what we are told abviously needs restating because people are definately not getting the message.
What we have here is an entertaining restatement of things we know, but choose not to heed. Not that greatest recipe for a riveting documentary. Still, I think it is worth seeing, if for know other reason than perhaps it will make you start thinking about your own lifestyle and may just give you that extra little push to make some changes for the better.
