It's somehow embarrassing to watch this movie, even alone. If you consider the plotlessness of the Mario games, then you would know that there's no way to make a serious movie. So, why even try? Well, Super Mario Bros is the first movie based on a video game, so it was more of a disastrous experiment and cash grab than a film.

There are a LOT of terrible things about the movie: the landscape, which was a mixture of Blade Runner and Dune, was unappealing. Was Dennis Hopper trying to be Donald Trump? Even if this movie wasn't based on a video game, would the plot make any more sense? There are too many plot holes to name and in closing, it should never have been made.
