Review of Super Fly (1972) by Samuel S — 03 Jun 2006
It may be a "landmark" film, but poorly made is just that. Cheap production, the acting is below average. It has a good title song and a good score, but the score gets SO monotonous after about 20 minutes and it is very distracting and intrusive to the film.
I'm not sure the glorification of a drug dealer's lifestyle is a particularly good thing. At times the movie is laughably bad, particularly some of the dialogue.
