Review of Super 8 (2011) by Bill B — 23 Jan 2014
I really enjoyed this one, it captures a fun mish mash of late '70s, early '80s vibes that was producer Speilberg's bread and butter back in the day, with the luxury of modern special effects that really sell the whole thing.
The kids are sort of the expected ciphers to represent the various childhood stereotypes you might expect, which works fine in the context of the film, and I thoroughly enjoyed this one from start to finish.
Give it a rental at the very least, it's a lot of fun.
