Review of Super (2010) by Baurushan J — 07 Jun 2012
A brilliant twist on the superhero genre even if it's not based on the superhero comics this movie is definitely worth the good marks. The story is about a loser named Frank who lives with his ex-drug addict wife Sarah and they both live a peaceful life but when Sarah is taken away by drug dealer Jacques, Frank is unable to cope.
He soon decides to fight in order to get his wife back starting from the bottom of the hill and working his way to the top as the crime-offending, wrench-wielding Crimson Bolt. Knowing his identity, a crazed young girl named Libby who works in a newsagent inappropriately wants to be his sidekick named Boltie and Frank tries to refuse as he has to work alone on this mission to get his wife and he doesn't need an extra helper.
But he uses her as his sidekick anyway to get to the top of the hill and beat Jacques and bring his wife back. The most realistic superhero movie taking place in the most realistic world. This movie can teach Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Captain America: The First Avenger, Sin City and all the Batman films a lesson about how to make a realistic reality world.
Super gets a 9.6/10.
