Review of Super (2010) by Gavin D — 24 Jan 2013
The very definition of dark comedy. It's funny, violent, and twisted, and has a bit of a heart to it as well. Ellen Page is perfectly maniacal as the sidekick, but Rainn Wilson isn't as great in the Frank personality as he could have been.
It was like he was trying to be blue-collar Batman, and it didn't take. The film as a whole reminded me a bit of Kick-Ass, if Kick-Ass had been a forty-something adult. Nice cameo from Nathan Fillion as well, but a bit heavy on the God aspects.
