Review of Sunshine on Leith (2013) by Joel A — 21 May 2014

The opening scene is brilliant. The final scene is awesome. Unfortunately what happens in-between is nowhere near as good. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the movie and tapped away to the songs. As musicals go it is entertaining and well put together.

It's just that it could have been so much more if the writers had added some genuine humour and a stronger story line. Its a bit like .The Commitments' without the laughs and a Bit like "Across The Universe" without the quality of the sings or the dramatic story line.

If only the sheer quality of that first scene could have been maintained it may have gone down as a modern day classic!
