Review of Sunset Boulevard (1950) by Jamison R — 18 Nov 2014
A true classic from Billy Wilder and my favorite performance by William Holden. This film about the struggles of a silent era film star left in the shadows after the advent of the talkies is very inside Hollywood.
It pokes and references actual Hollywood events from the early days of pictures. Gloria Swanson chews scenery as the former star with an obsession with being relevant in today's Hollywood. Sunset Blvd is a must see.
