Review of Sunrise (1985) by Rainer G — 08 Feb 2009
A stunningly photographed, and eloquently haunting tale of love. It has easily withstood the test of time, and remains poignant and moving today after eighty years. Sunrise, along with Chaplin's City Lights, is a perfect example of film from an era when motion pictures graduated from pedantic, and bloated entertainments, to being a form of art.
