Review of Au Hasard Balthazar (1966) by Rainer G — 12 Feb 2009
Bresson is the Michelangelo of filmmakers, and this is his Sistine Chapel. An allegory of the Western world, so complete and so fulfilling, yet maddening and challenging. The very plot, I presume, would seem different to every viewer, because it is our world on film.
