Review of Sunday Bloody Sunday (1971) by Daniel G — 20 Feb 2009
Beautifully directed and acted love triangle story with a difference. Apart from containing one of the first male to male sex scenes in commercial film history, it reveals the problematic these type of relationships entail with a lot of maturity.
There is an air of "joie de vivre" which exalts and celebrates intimate human relationships as well as family ties (specially memorable the family with the children Alex and Bob au-pair) and invites the audience to abandon themselves to them too as they can only bring joy and meaning to life.
Peter Finch and Glenda Jackson are splendid.
