Review of Summertime (1955) by Michael S — 20 Mar 2010
I never saw this movie from start to finish before. It really made a difference in my opinion of it. Pure 1950s censorship yet strangely sexy. Especially the scene on the balcony where Katharine's character drops her shoe and the fireworks go off.
Talk about symbolism. I also like the scene where she goes home because, as she says, "she doesn't want to stay at the party too long.".
