Review of Summer of Sam (1999) by Rebecca F — 05 Nov 2007
One of spike lee's best works in my opinion. its his hidden gem. it captures 1977 nyc on many levels and from many perspectives and cultures including italians, african-americans, punks, and the son of sam himself.
also one of the best soundtracks used in a film. the montage scene of NY while adrian brody plays guitar along to The Who's "baba o'reilly" is more fantastic than the fantastic 4 themselves.
