Review of Summer of Sam (1999) by Jerry N — 23 Aug 2008
I hated this and here's why: It was long and it never, EVER paid off; it's plot was choppy and didn't focus enough on the killer and too much on an uninteresting plot line that revolves around John Leguizamo (?); it had an air of wanting to be Scorsese in the way it was filmed but just came off as WANTING to be that way; and acting matters in movies.
I'm not trying to "put down the black man" as Mr. Lee might say for me giving him a bad review, I just didn't like the film, plain and simple.
