Review of Summer of Sam (1999) by Dave L — 13 Feb 2010
Spike Lee could have really had something here. He focuses on the Summer of Sam in the 1970s and capturing the culture of New York City during that time. Unfortunately, the film is so overwrought and goes so overboard at points, a swell of ridiculousness overwhelms the effort.
