Review of Summer of Sam (1999) by Joe H — 28 Feb 2011
Felt a bit wishy washy in places. Not sure it benefited greatly from the overt involvement of Berkowitz as an active character, the story would be more rounded and have had a much darker edge if the killings had remained in the background.
The scenes with CBGB's/Studio 54/Plato's retreat seemed a bit shoehorned in as if Lee is on some sort of greatest New York cultural touchstones of the 70's outing. Meh.
