Review of Summer of Sam (1999) by Richard H — 30 May 2008
Like all of Lee's film's, this one is not what it originally seems. Instead of focusing on the killer, we are presented with the issues of xenophobia and the horror raised towards anyone who dares to be different, issues that hit home today.
The cast is excellent with a great early performance by Adrian Brody. However, it does fizzle out in the middle, leaving for a strong begining and end but a long 50 minute strech is pretty stagnent. However, it is still a good watch for anyone who wants to see strong acting and a story that has something relevent to say.
