Review of Sully (2016) by Abemc — 30 May 2017
An incredible job by director Clint Eastwood, as there isn't much to the story and we already know how it ends. Sully is still a tense, emotional, "feel good" drama that suffers from occasional choppiness because of some awkward inter-cut flashbacks.
Hanks doesn't star so much as he adds "presence." Eckhart and Linney are excellent, and while the rest of the cast is equally good, they are definitely on the periphery. I'm all for fun, cheesy action movies, but sometimes, a film needs to be made to honor and remember great achievements.
Sully does that, simply and without fuss.
