Review of Sully (2016) by Angus H — 07 Dec 2016
Sully is a film based on a true story of an A320 (US airways 1549) bound for North Carolina which collided with a flock of Canada geese upon take-off from La Guardia, that wiped out both engines causing the plane to begin to glide at a mere altitude of 2700 FT above the highly-populated area of the Bronxs in New York.
Captain Chessely Sullenburger, acted by Tom Hanks, had no option but to attempt an emergency ditching on the Hudson river. The film really grips your attention as its explained how all 155 souls managed to survive a water diching in the heart of winter with brutal weather conditions as low as 0 degrees.
With the director, Clint Eastwood, there is no doubt about it that Sully is a real shocker for you feel how all the passengers would have felt as the aircraft filled with icy cold water. It explains the investigation in what really happened on board flight US Airways 1549.
