Review of Sully (2016) by Nilufer E — 15 Dec 2016
I don't normally find myself drawn to films of the "disaster" variety. But the appeal of the very famous forced water landing on the Hudson, coupled with Eastwood directing, had such gravitas that I went to watch it. You won't be disappointed, but don't expect a high tempo, explosive or overly dramatised film. It has a steady, and almost nervous momentum. Hanks is superb and delivers a very believable performance. I enjoy the film, and even though I knew the ending (as will all) I still left with a warm fuzzy feeling, the lovely kind that reminds you life can be precious and sometimes "miracles" do happen.
Definitely worth a watch at the cinema as the forced landing scene is phenomenal and worthy of the big screen.
