Review of Sully (2016) by Jak-Luke S — 23 Jul 2017
Sully can perfectly sum up Eastwoods directing ethic, which is get in quick, get what you need and get out quicker. The performances are excellent with both Hanks and Eckhart having a great dynamic with the former brilliantly conveying his emotional range, but unfortunately I felt Linney was underused.
The editing is fantastic and creates a tense and suspenseful atmosphere with a wonderful effect. Yet, aside from the sequences with Hanks the film at times looks rather cheap and alike a television set.
