Review of Sullivan's Travels (1941) by Eric E — 21 Sep 2007
Good movie, but a little overrated. I liked the basic idea of the film-how making people laugh is sometimes the best thing you can do for them. However, the movie has uncomfortable racial overtones and features too many stereotypical characters-the struggling actress, the clueless working man, the rich naive political idealist.
I thought the Great McGinty was better.
