Review of Sullivan's Travels (1941) by Dan B — 29 Dec 2007
If there's a better movie about the value of comedy then I've yet to see it. What a joy. A movie that satirises 'message' pictures and yet manages to deliver its own social message very effectively.
Fast, funny and ultimately moving, Sturges script fairly crackles, while stars Joel McCrea and Veronica Lake light up the screen. Perfect.
