Review of Sullivan's Travels (1941) by Garrett C — 25 Aug 2011
Beyond meta-film and beyond screwball comedy, Sullivan's Travels is a breathtaking adventure ahead of its time. The process of filmmaking inspiration had never met such an unusual turn, but Sturges was the man for the job. This may be the first masterpiece to celebrate the movie industry with predominant passion (and some inside spoofs and jokes). Veronica Lake is a stunning fox in here!
99/100.
