Review of Sukiyaki Western Django (2007) by Colin K — 15 Feb 2009
The "engrish" of the movie is certainly interesting. i'm impressed by the fact that the whole movie is in english. a one of a kind eastern western. the characters are full of character. each one is quite memorable (especially the schitzo sheriff.) the action scenes combine the shootouts of a classic western, with the flair of a martial arts film (like john woo, minus the bullet time).
Most interestingly, is quentin tarantino's character, and some of the quotes. especially when he mentions Akira and then talks about anime otaku (when he's the old man).
It's a great movie. Don't pass up on it thinking it's a typical asian foreign film, it's anything but.
