Review of Suicide Squad (2016) by Dustin N — 20 Jul 2017
A blown opportunity. The Joker and Harley Quinn moments are the few good moments in the film. Will Smith plays Will Smith once again, and the movie is mostly focused on him. The soundtrack is painfully mismatched to the movie the entire way through with some strange desire to be cool rather than quality.
The narrative is a mess. It's all over the place with dull and predictable action sequences. The random exposition is too often. I'd like to see more of Leto and Robbie. Their entire backstory was rushed & could have been the entire movie.
It also could have been better that way rather than stuffing it full of characters.
