Review of Suicide Squad (2016) by Dhmhtrhs B — 15 Dec 2017
After the okay-ish but not exactly smash hit "Man of Steel" and the disappointing and nearly critically panned "Batman v Superman", Warner Bros decided that what they needed to do to fix their DC shared cinematic universe was to take control over their movies. That's clearly what they did here, in a movie that was probably already weak by itself, given the limited amount of time that Ayer was given to work on it.
The end result is a poorly written, gerenic, awfully put together, visually unimpressive, video game level of cringe-worthy, 2 hour long music video. Yes, that's what this movie is. The acting doesn't make it much more rewatchable. Other than Smith, Robbie and Davis, the rest of the cast are just bland - but I don't blame them, they had nothing to work with.
