Review of Sugar & Spice (2001) by Guido S — 02 Dec 2013
For some reason, I remember this one more as a heist movie than a comedy, but it is actually the opposite. Marley Shelton gets pregnant during high school and needs money to raise her kid, so she enlists the help of her cheerleading squad to rob a bank.
They watch classic heist films and plan out their heist while going about their lives. They do pull it off, but one of their rivals sees them do an illegal cheerleading move and starts to talk with the cops.
The narration of the film goes through her, up until it gets to the present then there is a twist. A pretty good film, does a good bit of teen comedy along with your traditional heist film.
