I love baseball and this movie did baseball pretty well, and the emotions and pressure that is involved in a game like this. It does a great job showing the stuggle of being someone in poverty stuggling to make something of themselves.

The biggest problem with the movie was, and it's a big problem, is that HE GAVE UP! I am fine with showing a real story about how hard it is to accomplish something seemingly impossible and failing.

That's fine. It's real and I get that. But he, has only known baseball his whole life, and that is all he really cares about, besides family, and when things begin to get tough, and they really are not that rough, he quits.

It's a major downfall for the main character. At least his friend had been cut from the team before he left, but Sugar quit himself and his dream. If I had that talent and was even going through the stuggles that he was going through, at least I would have gone until someone told me to stop or told me that I couldn't anymore.

This movie is great with the realism, showing that there are thousands apon thousands of players trying for a dream of making to the big leagues, and showing that very few ever make it. But having him quit on himself made it more depressing and far less satisfying then it should have been.
