Review of Suffragette (2015) by Bethany B — 08 Nov 2015
As a person baffled by the lack of voter turnout in America, I found this film about what women went through to secure the vote in England, to be especially moving. In America, women were subjected to the same brutality and injustice some years after the women in England.
It's so important to be reminded of this. It was an engaging film with a heartbreaking story. I actually couldn't speak for about 30 minutes after leaving the theater. I especially recommend it to those who think that it's no big deal if they don't exercise their right to vote.
